At Stress Engineering Services, we are recognized leaders in the oil and gas industry, specializing in the design, analysis, and testing of offshore systems and components. As we navigate the complexities and challenges of offshore drilling, our expertise in dynamic positioning, riser systems engineering, and other challenges stands out. We excel in managing floating production systems, ensuring all components from platforms to pipelines operate seamlessly together. With more than 40 years of expertise in integrity management, we understand crucial performance indicators and consistently monitor them throughout the system’s lifecycle. This enables our clients to make informed decisions about system expansions or critical evaluations with confidence.
The nature of our component design and analysis work is very project-specific, but the one key attribute common to all of these projects is our client-focused approach. Whether performing detailed finite element analysis (FEA) to determine suitability of a certain design geometry, or sitting with the client to discuss conceptually their particular needs for a new component, our commitment to getting you what you need is paramount.
The close relationship between our analytical staff and our test labs is the key to our component engineering success. Our component design and analysis specialists in spend a significant of time in the test labs and understand what works in the real world. They have testing and analytical experience reaching back forty years, and real first-hand knowledge of what has and has not worked in the past. This level of information is not learned in a classroom, nor can it be quickly obtained. There is no substitute for experience.
We have extensive experience in the design and analysis of the following components:
We combine state-of-the-art technology with 50+ years of experience to help clients collect, visualize and analyze the large amounts of data necessary to make critical decisions.
In today’s world of machine learning technology, it is critical that the data driven solutions predicted by the machine learning algorithms are backed by sound engineering principles. At Stress Engineering Services, we accomplish this by seamlessly merging our data analytics capabilities with physics based modeling expertise.
From writing state-of-the-art data processing algorithms customized to specific applications, to building machine learning models using the latest technology, we provide clients with the ultimate insight from their data.
Our floating systems services are anchored by our proprietary RAMS (Rational Approach to Marine Systems) program, which sets us apart by performing fully coupled dynamic analysis of floating production systems, integrating moorings, risers, and platforms into a single model. This advanced capability, combined with our expertise in riser design, reliability, and materials, enables us to offer a full spectrum of services. Our service phases include Concept Evaluation/Selection, Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), and Execution, Fabrication, and Installation.

Analysis Capabilities
Our services harness a range of sophisticated instruments such as accelerometers, GPS, strain gages, and pressure transducers to capture critical data on offshore systems under various conditions. This data provides insight on the performance and integrity of systems like Floating Production Systems (FPS), risers, and subsea equipment.
Our NeoSight® FPS & DCI system integrates data from existing instruments to create digital models, simulating various scenarios to predict outcomes accurately. The Realtime Fatigue Monitoring System (RFMS) utilizes strategic measurements to calculate stress and fatigue, essential for maintaining system integrity without the need for external event data.
We also offer Condition Based Maintenance for Drilling Risers, employing advanced laser measurements to streamline inspections and reduce costs. Additionally, our Subsea Vibration Data Loggers (SVDL) are deployed to monitor and analyze fatigue damage efficiently, enhancing the safety and longevity of critical infrastructure.
Our Integrity Management services ensure that deepwater floating and subsea systems operate efficiently, safely, and eco-consciously. We specialize in maintaining and expanding facilities to meet regulatory compliance and operational needs. Whether starting from scratch or enhancing an existing program, our expertise in Floating Systems, Subsea Systems, Fitness for Service, Materials & Metallurgy, Process Technology, and Forensic Engineering, makes us your ideal engineering support partner. With years of dedicated service, we are committed to understanding your systems and ensuring reliability and compliance for all your engineering needs.
Our laser-based pipe inspection service is part of our non-destructive testing, asset condition-based maintenance and monitoring, predictive data analytics, and IoT ecosystem offerings. The laser-based pipe inspection service helps to manage and assess baseline and degradation in tubulars.
Utilizing the high-performance BEMIS™ (Bore Erosion Measurement and Inspection System) tool, we are capable of rapidly, accurately, and quantitatively mapping the internal surface of 2″ – 21″ diameter pipes. BEMIS™ is a product developed by Laser Techniques Company LLC, and is the only system that accurately measures and maps the ID of pipe/tubing.
Our service excels in detecting material degradation and risks, providing high-resolution insights into material loss, mechanical wear, and other defects. It supports a variety of applications, from drilling riser evaluations for service re-entry to detailed production tubing inspections.

An Innovative Asset Integrity Management Platform
NeoSight is an automated standalone integrity management system, which enables data to be gathered from existing instrumentation to create digital models that provide a holistic representation of asset response, including fatigue. NeoSight’s integrated models create ‘virtual sensors’ to let you see the performance of critical components regardless of sensor coverage or availability, giving you a more comprehensive picture of your operations and alerting you to potential problems before they arise.
